For the most part this is largely subconscious.โฃโฃA young child next to me on the plane home had a packet of Haribo sweets. I assessed the situation & stealing her sweets just didn’t seem possible or moral so I bought my own.โฃโฃI wouldn’t have without that external influence.โฃโฃA few months back I switched my common seeded bread for sesame seed bagels.โฃโฃI had shared on my Instagram story my new love for bagels. The weeks following I saw a trend in my clients nutrition choices.โฃโฃBagels had become far more common.โฃโฃWe will always be influenced by our families, friends & even those we follow on social media.

โฃโฃThe evidence shows us that if our friends are overweight, we are more likely to be overweight.โฃโฃIf our parents are overweight, then we are more likely to be overweight. โฃโฃChildren copy the behaviours of their parents like a sponge so our upbringing shapes us hugely mentally & physically.โฃโฃ The most powerful way to level up your life & results is to be around those who are better & not worse than you.โฃโฃThe best thing I have ever done for my clients & my own development as a coach was to invest 15% of my income into courses, networking & a mentorship program. This has been non negotiable for me since 2014.โฃโฃBeing surrounded by a network of the best & most successful online coaches & PTs around the world forced me to level up my coaching service & operate at the highest possible standard.โฃโฃSharing ideas & taking the best parts of their service & plugging it into mine.โฃโฃNot intentionally showing a lack of respect here but for many years in my early days as a PT, I was only surrounded by extremely low level personal trainers.

โฃโฃKnowing my service & results were 10 fold theirs combined didn’t push me enough.โฃโฃI knew for me to develop, I had to engage less with these people.โฃโฃI would read articles & message the clients from the day before while they were playing candy crush between clients.โฃโฃSometimes you have to be strong enough to cut some people from your network, spend less time around certain friends & even familyย  who can influence your standards.โฃโฃThis is also partly why I choose to spend quite a large chuck of my time alone.โฃโฃThank you to all the amazing people in my life.โฃโฃAnd thank you to my clients who are levelling up their life being in our powerful tribe & letting me lead them to bossing life.

What COVID-19 is teaching us

We can’t do it all on our own.

I have always been investing in my personal development from day 1 from a nutrition and training perspective. This is my comfort zone now but what isn’t is the business side.

I knew to take my coaching to the next level I needed to spend time and share ideas with the best in the business. So I invested in one of the best mentors in the game. Being part of a mentorship with like minded driven coaches has been an incredible tool to keep my service at the highest possible level. This is only the beginning for me but I’m excited about what’s possible and the impact I strive to have in this industry.
